My darlings I need a holiday. I know everyone feels like this, especially around this time of year, but I really do need to get a away for a little while. I've been thinking a lot about where my destination should be, and to be honest am having difficulties in deciding. At first I thought about spending 2 weeks in Rome, or maybe a tour around northern Italy, but my friend invited me to New York ages ago, so perhaps I should go there. I really don't know, sometimes too many options can be a bad thing, and the more I see beautiful holiday homes like this, the more I want to jump on the next plane.
This lovely Miami Beach Townhouse, is where I want to be right now! Look at that deck, perfect for late evening entertaining.
I would love to know your plans for the summer. Are you as undecided as me?

Wish List Wednesday
Good evening my darlings, am so sorry for such a late post, I know it's no excuse but today has being absolutely manic! This is the first time that I've properly sat down all day, but you know what? Am not gonna sit and moan to you folks, it's my fault that time management got the better of me. Speaking of which, there's a really good book that I've been meaning to get from Anthropologie, but lately I've been too busy or occupied to do the simplest of tasks. If you haven't yet done so, then you must check out their summer sale. There are some pretty great stuff on offer, like this pretty clock and the colourful clutch. I actually have no place to put the door knob at the moment, but there's no harm in buying for the future dream home is there? Does anyone else do that too?
Yes that is the book that I want to get. I travel so much, it would be nice to learn how to be kinder to our environment whilst doing so. I think it's time that wish becomes reality.
Do I get your support people?

An outdoor retreat
I don't know about you guys, but for me it's getting way too hot. Regardless of what am wearing, I always find myself desperately in need of a chilled bottle of water and a fan. When the weather is like this, it's hard not to complain, extremity is never a good thing....not unless you purposely decide to put a positive spin on it. Am talking about gardening folks, it's that time of year to head to the nearest DIY store for some summer plants, and outdoor furnishes. Why be indoors when you can have a mini haven at the back of your house, I say (for those who can).
Here are a few ideas to get you inspired.
For me this garden is more of an outdoor retreat, very laid back. The subtle colours, allows the plants to come alive, and the best thing about it, is that it looks quite low maintenance.
I live in an apartment so unfortunately I don't have a garden. For you lucky ones that have one, what are your plans for them this summer? Any makeovers, a sprucing up here and there?

A Room with a View
Goo-od Monday Morning darlings! Was it a nice break? Compared to last week's island hopping, this weekend was much more relaxing. The party on Friday was a nice end to the working week, I can't remember if I mentioned in my last post that it was a fairy tale themed party. I went as princess Jasmin from Aladdin, and no you can't see the pictures (.....I still want to have you as friends). Saturday and Sunday was pretty much laid back, I stayed in bed till the afternoon and then went to barbecues. Italian and Brazilian barbecues, very yummy!
This weekend's relaxation is my inspiration for today's post. Check out these stunning bedrooms, not only are they extremely beautiful, the views are amazing too! Is this a case of too much beauty being a dangerous thing?
......ladies and gents, you are advised to take a deep breath before attempting to look at these romantic ones.
Wow! Did you like my dears? Am really struggling to choose a favourite, can you?

Friday good stuff
I feel like standing on top of a roof and shouting from the bottom of my lungs, IT'S FRIDAY!
This week hasn't been that bad due to the mid-week public holiday, but am very glad that the weekend is finally here. Tonight is going to be a bitter-sweet moment for me, as am going to my friends farewell party. Really looking forward to ending the day with a great get together, but dreading the good byes. Hmm...such as life. On the bright side, I've come across a couple of good stuff that I would like to share with you folks. First stop, is the amazing competition by Ideal Home magazine. They are offering one lucky person the chance to win a luxury break in the highly fashionable boutique hotel by Missoni.
Yes people, Missoni!
The hotel is located in Edinburgh, so unfortunately the competition is only for people residing in the UK and the Channel islands. Am sorry if you aren't eligible to enter, neither am I at the moment, but fear not beacuse I have one more goodie to share.
Feast your beautiful eyes on these!
Don't they look so yummy? If you head over to Ming makes cupcakes, you can have their recipes too! She also makes cookies and all other savory treats, it's definitely worth checking out! You can thank Jen of Made by girl, for the introduction.
mmm....that's all folks! I wish you all the best weekend, am going to the beach if the weather is good, I would love to know what you guys get up to.

In search of Lost Paradise
Remember my last post when I said that life has a funny sense of humor? Well, I totally stand by my remark! Imagine my face yesterday afternoon at around 3pm (European time of course), when I stepped out of my apartment, hopped onto my bike, and peddled for a couple of minutes before being nicely greeted by the rain. Actually, no need to imagine, I'll tell you that it wasn't a happy face.
After working all morning and the early part of the afternoon (on a public holiday might I add), I decided to accept a friend's invitation to aperitifs in Venice, and as my luck will have it, the sun decided to go for a siesta at that exact time. Half an hour train ride later, we were standing under the big clock outside the train station, I was in chocolate brown ballerina pumps, she in black strappy sandals, and both of us completely wet. Not even our handbag sized umbrellas could protect us from the Italian monsoon. Giggling like two little school girls, we made our way through the back alleys, out of the tourist way, and in search of lost paradise, the old restaurant that she wanted to take me to. We fought against the rain, wind and cold, to finally arrive to a closed door. It wasn't open due to the holiday.....ahhh!
Does things like this happen to you guys too? Is it just me? Seriously this stuff happens all the time!
In the end we went into the nearest bar for some c&c (catch up and cappuccino) session, it was nice. It's always good spending time with a friend, but my mind still wonders about the lost paradise. I promise to go back and give you guys a detailed report, but until then, feast your eyes on this mini paradise at home. A house with a pool inside?..... yes please!
Enjoy my darlings!
It's slightly strange, but beautiful, I love it! What do you folks say?

Wish List Wednesday
Today is a public holiday, and instead of heading out to the beach with my roomie and some friends, am in my room doing some office work. Life sure does have a funny sense of humor! As I sit here at my reading table, looking outside the window, I wish more than anything that I could be in this picture.
I would love to be relaxing in that lovely gazebo, overlooking the water. Of course I would be wearing this beautiful summer dress by Zimmermann, and sipping on some deliciously fruity cocktail, whilst reading the Big book of small cool spaces by Apartment Therapy. Being the clever girl that I am, I would have a pair of binoculars to hand, just incase some cute sailors sailed by :-)..........enough dreaming, back to work.
For those of you office workers out there, do you also dream about days in the sun? If so what do you dream about?

London Townhouse
Happy first of June everyone! We're finally in summer, or at least I think we are. Hopefully we've seen the last of the terrible weather. I love the feeling of going into a new month, out with the old and in with the new, that's what I say!
Speaking of new, am loving this refurbished town house in London, simply amazing.
The kitchen space is beautiful, very light and airy.
Do you folks like?

Island Hopping
Hello my beautiful readers! How are you all doing, did you have a good break? I know you guys in the UK and the States have an extra day, due to the bank holiday, you lucky things. After the weekend that I had, I could really do with an extra day of rest. Saturday was such an amazing day, I spent the whole day island hopping! A friend of mine was celebrating her birthday, so she took us on her boats, making a few stops on a couple of the islands around the Veneto region of Italy.
The adventure started from climbing down a ladder to get inside the boat, very scary and exciting at the same time.
We made a quick stop on the island of Isola delle Vignole, to have some lunch. Oh and the captain let me drive the boat a little, it was so good!
After a delicious lunch of pasta and fried sea food, we hopped back onto the boat and continued with our escapade. Then all of a sudden it started to rain, so we stopped on the island of Sant'Andrea, and went inside the fort for some shelter.
We didn't make it to the island of San Terasmo, when the rain finally stopped, we headed back to Venice to get ready for the party.
Here are some more pictures of Venice, isn't it beautiful?
Yes, those are my feet, I wanted to show you guys my pretty red ballerina flats. Aren't they gorgeous?

Some weekend inspirations
As the Americans would say, I need a strong cup of Joe (coffee). I went to a really good party last night, as usual with these type of things, sleep always gets sacrificed. The whole morning has been such a struggle to keep my eyes open, but it was worth it.
The weekend is finally here and I am so grateful! Tonight I will be attending an exhibition of a colleague who has just invented a new way of photography, through the use of a computer monitor (please don't ask me how). Tomorrow, I'll be going to the island of Santerasmo which is near Venice. A friend of mine has hired a boat for her birthday, so that should be fun. Sunday will be spent recovering from Saturday am sure, and that is my entire weekend covered. Actually the boat thing depends on the weather, but we'll see, fingers crossed!
What about you folks, have you made any plans for the weekend?
Before bidding you a fond farewell, let me leave you guys with these pictures that I took yesterday evening, it's the view along the River Silea.
This is my bike path.
....and this is what I look at whilst bike riding, amazing right?
I literally had to stop every so often to capture these beautiful images, and I knew that I just had to share it with you guys.
I do hope you like, my darlings!
Have a wonderful weekend, and I'll see you on Monday.
