Masculine Kitchens

This post from apartment therapy totally made me smile. My dears it seems that kitchens also have a gender, the feminine and the masculine. No jokes.

Exhibit A, the macho kitchens
Apparently the key element that most masculine kitchens have, is their industrial style, be gone with the frilly aprons and pastel coloured fridges, the steel is in.
I don't know about you guys, but I can easily see a woman in all of those kitchens, surely it's due to personal taste, right? Well am not one to make a fuss, if the guys want to take over, I say we let them.

What say you, my darlings? Are these kitchens really that masculine?

  2. Thanks so much! You are the first to actually comment on it. Even though I was trained as a spatial designer and not a graphic artist, it's amazing how much aesthetically aware you become, when you have a design blog. Like a sponge you soak up visual information from multiple sources. I created the banner from things that mean something to me. The bike is an illustration of my own, the balloon symbolises travel and freedom. The butterflies reminds me of the Italian countryside that I bike through on the way to work. The quote is also mine, and I try to live by it. I'll stop now before I carry on forever....Cheers Rosa. x
