Wish List Wednesday

It recently dawned on me a couple of days ago, that I haven't got the right summer shoes. I love my balley flats, but they are way too hot for this weather. I am in desperate need of the triple S. "Smoking, summer, sandals (yes am quite proud of that concoction). These are my 10 best picks, and you know what the best thing is?

I'll keep a look out for some great deals for you guys too, and if anyone has one they would like to share, then please be my guest. All I ask is that they are the triple S, and on sale.

Island Hopping Part 2

Well you know what they say, people that live on islands, must hop around (kidding, no body says that). It's long been my best friend's dream to go to Burano, so when she came with her boyfriend for a weekend visit, it was my pleasure to make her dreams come true.
Yep! Welcome to island hopping part 2.

First stop was Murano, famed for it's glass making industry.

Unfortunately when we didn't see the glass blowers in action, I think it was siesta time. This light house on the other hand really captivated me. I love light houses, they absolutely fascinate me.

Next stop, Burano. Famed for lace making and beautiful coloured houses.

This place is seriously stunning, I highly recommend it.

Sunday was lovely and relaxing. We went antiquing in the morning, then cycled along the river Silea, before settling for a picnic in this lovely place.

.....we also squeezed in a little time for shopping along the way.

The thing about island hopping is that it's as much tiring, as it is fun. A ying, yang thing. You get the cool, exciting stuff, but it comes with a fatigue price. Am still recovering, but it was worth it. Beauty, adventure, good company, what more can a girl ask for? This I believe is the good life.

Top fashion buys

You know you're in trouble when the make up lady announces that you have perfect skin, therefore hardly any make-up was needed.....ahhhh! This was my exact predicament yesterday morning, there I was sitting with wide open Bambie" eyes in anticipation and excitement of my fashion shoot, only to be told that I would hardly be wearing any foundation, just eye and lip colour.
Most people fail to see my anguish about this, but come on, no girl wants to do a fashion shoot with hardly any make up, right? How do you folks feel about this? Natural beauty or no natural beauty, I have nothing to prove, please please, make me up just like the other girls! Ok, enough with the venting, am sorry my darlings, but there's no point in having a blog if you can't have a little outburst every now and again.

....So in the spirit of fashion, I would like to point you guys to the Instyle's list of 50 summer must haves under £50!

I checked it out, liked a lot of it, and for you folks outside the UK, some of the retailers deliver internationally. So go ahead and take advantage of the weak £.

Boudoir of a boutique

Remember when I told you folks that I was becoming more and more Italian? Seriously, I love nothing more than a lazy Sunday evening spent window shopping. The recipe to this is to get together with some friends, and it's very important that everyone has an ice cream, it makes the whole experience even sweeter. Then walking at a leisurely speed, make sure to stop at beautiful window displays and have a peek inside. Well on one of my recent outings, I peered into this window, and was immediately hooked. The decor of the boutique is beautiful, it's so chic boudoir, laden with gorgeous shoes! What's not to love about it? I was quite concerned why I hadn't discovered it before, having lived here for nearly a year now, but the assistants notified me that they just opened......phew!

If you're ever in Venice-Treviso, make sure you check out Augusto Cuomo, it's near the center of town.

The lovely shop assistants Piera and Evelina hung the shoes on the chandelier for me, nice touch don't you think?

Wish List Wednesday

I love Wednesdays because it always comes with hope. The dreadful Monday is gone and the weekend is nearly here (well in two days time)! As usual my eyes have been shopping, am seriously considering becoming a personal shopper, I don't think it's just a coincidence that I happen to always find all these lovely things. Wouldn't it be nice to put my skills to good use by helping people find the perfect gift? Anyway, check out some of the things that have captured my heart over the past week.

Window Shopping

Lately I've become overly addicted to the Italian pastime of window shopping. In my little town of Treviso-Venezia, people love nothing more than walking around with their friends and families (dogs in tow) and looking through shop windows. At first I thought it was a little strange how a whole town can spend their spare time like this, but now I've joined. I don't have as much free time to walk around, so the internet is my favourite spot. Like a typical designer I make the usual excuses, it's for research, inspiration, and any other lame excuse I can use to justify my guilt. Honestly? It's just pure retail therapy goodness. Easter

I love the Easter collection from Pottery Barn. It is a fresh reinvention of traditional ornaments, with an infusion of colours and beautiful embroidery. Am already dreaming of setting my dinner table like this on Easter day, but unfortunately for me, they don't ship outside the States.
