Wish List Wednesday

Morning darlings, am sending a huge sunny hug to all of you. Those of you who read my post yesterday will remember me mentioning that I bought a very beautiful antique type writer over the weekend. The market was full of so many lovely items, which came with hefty prices too. So I've put together all the things that I really liked and wish I could have.

That dress makers dummy is so adorable, I went back twice to see the seller, but unfortunately she was away on both occasions.
Aren't these the prettiest collection of vintage stuff? Each one of them really captured my heart.

Any favourites?

Island Hopping Part 2

Well you know what they say, people that live on islands, must hop around (kidding, no body says that). It's long been my best friend's dream to go to Burano, so when she came with her boyfriend for a weekend visit, it was my pleasure to make her dreams come true.
Yep! Welcome to island hopping part 2.

First stop was Murano, famed for it's glass making industry.
Unfortunately when we didn't see the glass blowers in action, I think it was siesta time. This light house on the other hand really captivated me. I love light houses, they absolutely fascinate me.

Next stop, Burano. Famed for lace making and beautiful coloured houses.
This place is seriously stunning, I highly recommend it.

Sunday was lovely and relaxing. We went antiquing in the morning, then cycled along the river Silea, before settling for a picnic in this lovely place.
.....we also squeezed in a little time for shopping along the way.
The thing about island hopping is that it's as much tiring, as it is fun. A ying, yang thing. You get the cool, exciting stuff, but it comes with a fatigue price. Am still recovering, but it was worth it. Beauty, adventure, good company, what more can a girl ask for? This I believe is the good life.

Floating Bedroom

Hello everyone! Was it me or did the weekend fly by quicker than you can say Ijeoma by Ijeoma (..ha ha, poor joke I know). Hope you all had relaxing breaks, it will be nice to hear what you got up to. Mine was hectic, but absolutely fantastic (ooh that rhymed!). In the words of Brittany Spears, oops I did it again! I've been island hopping again, this time with my childhood best friend and her beau, so it was all the more special. I went antiquing too, and picked up a great (and I mean amazing), bargain! Ahhh! Stay tuned for all the weekend gossip this week, in the meanwhile let me share this quirky bedroom with you folks.

...introducing the floating bedroom.
Alright, what's the verdict, hot or not? I vote hot, you can totally decorate it as a retreat. A romantic retreat in your own home....mmm I see potential.

Friday Toast

I would like to kick the weekend off by making a toast. Some friends of mine are coming from Amsterdam for the weekend, and am so excited. Actually it's my childhood best friend and her boyfriend. I haven't been feeling too good recently so I pray for a miraculous recovery in time to welcome them.

So lets all raise our glasses to a virtual toast, here's to life, love, family, friends, and of course my darling readers.
Have a great weekend beautiful people, see you back on Monday! kisses

The power of White decor

I have this thing about white decors, it's a bit of a love, hate (ok maybe hate is a strong word) relationship. It's so beautiful, and crisp, but I wouldn't dare have it in my own home. I don't know about you guys but I draw the line at having a decor that is higher maintenance than me. So for now I'll look but won't touch.

Enjoy these beautiful white decors my darlings.
Aren't they lovely?

Wish List Wednesday

I know I've moaned about it on and on, but am long over due for a holiday. Seriously! It's time for a change of scenery, air and perhaps everything else. August is fast approaching and I still haven't made any plans for where to go. Well, I might not know where am going, but I would like to get there in style.
Aspinal of London is in my heart and on my wish list at the moment.
Gorgeous combination aren't they? Perfect for a tour around northern Italy! The travel journal is to capture all my thoughts, images and inspirations along the way, so I can blog about it later.

Are you guys going on holiday this summer? If so, where to?

P.s...if anyone would like to suggest an Italian destination, then please be my guest.

Colourful living rooms

Perhaps it's because we're in summer, or maybe am naturally a sucker for all things vibrant. When I wondered over to Living etc, I fell for these colourful living rooms, very fresh and uplifting I think.
My living room could do with a touch of colour, any favourites my dears?

Lovely home office

Happy Monday my darlings, today's weather isn't very cheery, so am really trying my best to think positively. Quite a difficult task when it's raining, damp and cloudy. Did you guys have a good weekend? Mine was quite nice, I had a traditional Venetian sea food dinner at a friend's place, very yummy. It rained a lot through out Saturday and Sunday, so I couldn't wander around Venice like I planned.

I woke up this morning really disgusted by the weather and thinking how nice it will be to work from home in a gorgeous home office.

Am dreaming of a cute little work nest like these ones.
It shows that it's not the size of the space that matters, but what you do with it.

Amazing island home

Happy Friday my lovelies, any weekend plans? I haven't really got anything scheduled, tonight am partying and tomorrow will be spent wandering around Venice. I've lived here for nearly a year now and yet this island never fails to captivate me. I love spending the day walking around and discovering new places, the city is such a beautiful labyrinth.

Am completely besotted with everything island at the moment, especially the small ones, so when I came across this gorgeous home on Rhode Island’s Narragansett Bay, I desperately had to share.

Shall I tell you the best part about it?......are you really, really, sure you want to know?.......mmm, if you really want to know, then scroll down to find out.
....it was purchased for a mere $3,600 in 1961!

Have a fantastic weekend darlings!

Pretty, tiny, and cozy apartment

Hello my dears, how is the day going? Mine was mighty good until the heavens opened a few moments ago, and now it feels more like an Indian monsoon, than a bright, sunny, Italian summer. Every time it pours like this I yearn to be somewhere cosy, and indulging in my favourite comfort food. Bangers and mash, with gravy of course (....Brit slang for sausages and mash potato with gravy), or perhaps a bowl of pasta and pesto......what can I say, I become more Italian each day!

Isn't this apartment so pretty, tiny and cozy?
What do you guys think, is the beauty only in my eyes?

Wish List Wednesday

Morning darlings, am so happy we're half way through the working week. I've been thinking of having a barbecue, nothing big, just a few friends, great food and music. That's all the important ingredients right?....Wrong! Since it's likely to be in the evening, along a river path, then it's important to have the right lighting to set the mood (if you know what I mean, wink, wink).

These are my favourite picks from the John Lewis website, aren't they beautiful?
Am struggling to choose a favourite, because I can totally see a different theme with each lantern.

Which one tickles your fancy the best?

Top fashion buys

You know you're in trouble when the make up lady announces that you have perfect skin, therefore hardly any make-up was needed.....ahhhh! This was my exact predicament yesterday morning, there I was sitting with wide open Bambie" eyes in anticipation and excitement of my fashion shoot, only to be told that I would hardly be wearing any foundation, just eye and lip colour.
Most people fail to see my anguish about this, but come on, no girl wants to do a fashion shoot with hardly any make up, right? How do you folks feel about this? Natural beauty or no natural beauty, I have nothing to prove, please please, make me up just like the other girls! Ok, enough with the venting, am sorry my darlings, but there's no point in having a blog if you can't have a little outburst every now and again.

....So in the spirit of fashion, I would like to point you guys to the Instyle's list of 50 summer must haves under £50!
I checked it out, liked a lot of it, and for you folks outside the UK, some of the retailers deliver internationally. So go ahead and take advantage of the weak £.

Beautiful beach house

Good morning my lovelies! Come stai? (...it means how are you in Italian). I had a fantastic weekend, not even last night's storm could dampen my mood. I seriously don't know what's up with this weather, as soon as you relax and get into the summer mood, you get hit by thunder and lightning. On Saturday, I went to a party in Lido, which is a beach next to Venice. Then yesterday I relaxed all day, and "attempted" to detox my skin, in preparation of today's photo shoot. I can't believe I forgot to tell you guys this, but Donna Moderna, which is a popular womens magazine in Italy is going to be profiling me for their creative women issue. I'll give you all the gossip tomorrow, in the meanwhile, enjoy these pictures of this beautiful beach house.
Gorgeous right? The best thing is that it's on a deserted beach, so you can really relax and even entertain as loud as you want, without worrying about the neighbours.

Weird or wonderful decor piece

Morning all! Wow, what a week it has been, one minute things are calm, the next it's chaos everywhere, and suddenly I could give busy bee a run for her money. I haven't had time to plan anything for the two day break, but I heard there's a party on the beach somewhere, so I might check that out tomorrow.
Before bidding you a fond farewell my dears, and kissing you on both cheeks, in accordance with the tradition of the land, I would like to share something with you.

......Introducing the Succulent stiletto planters!
Designed by Rachel Mahlke, the idea is to combine eye candy shoes with nature's oddities. I really like it, but I just have to know what you guys think. Weird or wonderful?
