Wish List Wednesday

My dear darlings the time has finally come for me to bid a fond farewell to freedom. Next Wednesday is the first day of university, which means that I have just under one week to relax, enjoy myself, and take it easy. I would also like to use this time to shop for some school stuff, I had the most ordinary stationary during my degree days, so now I want to do my masters in style. You know how it is when you have a design blog :)

Anyway I have to confess that I've fallen for those satchels BIG TIME! They would go really nicely with my new winter statement coat, which at the moment only exists in my head. Haven't seen it in the shops yet, but I'll know it when I see it. Like meeting "the one", I suppose.
Hmm...I shall go away and ponder it some more. Feel free to drop me a line and put forward your thoughts (preferably reasons why I should buy) on the matter.

I fell in love with this beautiful Bollywood inspired Mathew Williamson chair, the moment I clasped my eyes on it. I've searched high and low but I haven't seen it anywhere else, so I'm guessing he designed it just for his own home.

If anyone knows where to find this lovely piece of furniture, then please let me know, probably out of my price range, but I still wanna know.

...but at a hefty price of £2,170 from Grange, I guess this wish can't come true anytime soon.

I'm a real sucker for this kind of stuff.

I really love objects that make everyday items a little bit more interesting, you know? Who says that olive oil has to be in a generic bottle, when it can be easily stored in this beautifully decorated jar.

Look they even have salad plates to match. Perfect dinnerware for an end of summer barbecue.

I really urge you folks to head over to Du Veldt Interiors, to check out the rest of their stuff. There's a unique mix of art and African inspired household items, well worth a visit.

Wish List Wednesday

A wish come true....

There was once a young traveling designer, who woke up one morning and longed to be back home with her beloved family, friends and beautiful city. She contemplated about her wishes, should she stay in the kingdom of Italy for the remaining month or should she pack up and return to her kingdom of Great Britain.

After thinking long and hard, short and narrow, large and wide, the young traveler came to a decision. Although she could stay and have her holidays in her current city, however her heart has long left, and so she must follow.

With those feelings in mind, she set forth arranging a meeting between herself and the department of voyage within her place of labour. Soon afterward, a date was appointed, and the young traveler's wish came true. Come this Saturday, she will once more be with her beloved ones.

You guessed it ladies and gentlemen, I'm going back home to London this Saturday! Whoo! I know it's a bit sudden, but like my banner says, a life worth living is a life lived with passion, these are my very words that I live by. I always follow my heart and it is no longer here, so neither should I be.

p.s....am doing a happy dance, this Wednesday's wish has come true. Have you folks had any wishes come true recently?

Etsy bitsy spider......

Today, I wondered over to the Etsy website, and I found these items absolutely adorable. Suddenly the thin line between wanting and needing is blurring. The wooden bowl, in my ever-so-humble opinion, is a summer must have. It gives that extra touch to alfresco dinning, no?  The polka dot pillow is probably not everyone's cup of tea, but it was love at first sight. As for the basket, well that can go on the kitchen counter top, by a corner somewhere. Handy for picking the herbs from the garden, which I'll grow in the future (.....of course I will).

Could you folks do with any of these in your home?

Morning darlings, am sending a huge sunny hug to all of you. Those of you who read my post yesterday will remember me mentioning that I bought a very beautiful antique type writer over the weekend. The market was full of so many lovely items, which came with hefty prices too. So I've put together all the things that I really liked and wish I could have.

That dress makers dummy is so adorable, I went back twice to see the seller, but unfortunately she was away on both occasions.

Aren't these the prettiest collection of vintage stuff? Each one of them really captured my heart.

I know I've moaned about it on and on, but am long over due for a holiday. Seriously! It's time for a change of scenery, air and perhaps everything else. August is fast approaching and I still haven't made any plans for where to go. Well, I might not know where am going, but I would like to get there in style.
Aspinal of London is in my heart and on my wish list at the moment.

Gorgeous combination aren't they? Perfect for a tour around northern Italy! The travel journal is to capture all my thoughts, images and inspirations along the way, so I can blog about it later.

Morning darlings, am so happy we're half way through the working week. I've been thinking of having a barbecue, nothing big, just a few friends, great food and music. That's all the important ingredients right?....Wrong! Since it's likely to be in the evening, along a river path, then it's important to have the right lighting to set the mood (if you know what I mean, wink, wink).

Good evening my darlings, am so sorry for such a late post, I know it's no excuse but today has being absolutely manic! This is the first time that I've properly sat down all day, but you know what? Am not gonna sit and moan to you folks, it's my fault that time management got the better of me. Speaking of which, there's a really good book that I've been meaning to get from Anthropologie,  but lately I've been too busy or occupied to do the simplest of tasks. If you haven't yet done so, then you must check out their summer sale. There are some pretty great stuff on offer, like this pretty clock and the colourful clutch. I actually have no place to put the door knob at the moment, but there's no harm in buying for the future dream home is there? Does anyone else do that too?

Yes that is the book that I want to get. I travel so much, it would be nice to learn how to be kinder to our environment whilst doing so. I think it's time that wish becomes reality.

Today is a public holiday, and instead of heading out to the beach with my roomie and some friends, am in my room doing some office work. Life sure does have a funny sense of humor! As I sit here at my reading table, looking outside the window, I wish more than anything that I could be in this picture.

I would love to be relaxing in that lovely gazebo, overlooking the water. Of course I would be wearing this beautiful summer dress by Zimmermann, and sipping on some deliciously fruity cocktail, whilst reading the Big book of small cool spaces by Apartment Therapy.  Being the clever girl that I am, I would have a pair of binoculars to hand, just incase some cute sailors sailed by :-)..........enough dreaming, back to work.

For those of you office workers out there, do you also dream about days in the sun? If so what do you dream about?

Morning folks! I came to work earlier than usual so that I can get some free time to blog. I have a feeling that today is going to be especially busy at work, therefore I wanted to make some time to write for you guys. (Thanks for reading my friends, you make all my efforts worth while) Normally I would be tired and a little sleepy, but my bike ride to work really woke me up.

My dears, lately I've been craving macrons, and not just any old one but a Pierre Herme macron. For those of you who aren't familiar with the name, he's the godfather of these delicious French treats. They look really yummy in their lovely colours, but the strange thing is that I've never tasted them, and yet I crave them. Have you guys tried them, and do you like? The magazines and blogosphere won't stop raving about them, is it possible that they are over rated?

I want this Cath Kidston retro radio, period!

Hello my Lovelies, I hope you are all having a good afternoon. I have a tiny confession to make. Remember Monday's post about glamourous living? Lets just say that my imagination sort of ran away with me and before I knew it, I was searching for suitable dinnerware for the luxurious blue dinning room. Naturally, I "accidentally" wondered over to the Versace website.....and the rest is history!

If I had this, I would have dinner parties everyday!

Made totally for afternoon tea with scones.

Do you think I can justify buying this on the grounds of making biscuits.....for a charity maybe...world aid?...no?

I don't own any descent vases, really I don't. It's shameful that everytime I get flowers I struggle to find places to put it. So this will do nicely!

Ok, maybe not a dinnerware, but a very stylish way of applying perfume to yourself.

I love Wednesdays because it always comes with hope. The dreadful Monday is gone and the weekend is nearly here (well in two days time)! As usual my eyes have been shopping, am seriously considering becoming a personal shopper, I don't think it's just a coincidence that I happen to always find all these lovely things. Did you guys ever see that movie Confessions of a shopaholic? Without spoiling it for those of you that haven't seen it yet, it's basically a modern day rom-com about the life of a mid-twenties girl in New York, dealing with her shopping addiction.  The film was actually based on a series of shopaholic books by Sophie Kinsella, if you're into chick-lits then it might be your thing, it's definitely my cup of tea. Seeing the movie kind of brought a few home truths to me, although I wasn't as extreme as Becky Bloomwood, however I was no stranger to splurging on clothes, shoes, bags, accessories for my room and the like. So to nip my situation in the bud before it got any bigger, I started to collect images of things that I wanted. I called it "inspirations", my conscience called it temptations, and now that I have a blog, we can call it "wish list"! Right my friends?
