Ok I know we can't see the whole thing.
But the little bit that we do see, lets us know that there is a whole lotta beauty inside. Exposed bricks (my passion), teal walls, and from what I can tell, a gorgeous bed. Even the golden tassels on the antique wardrobe is divine.
Anyone else share my passion?

Out of Africa
Happy Friday my darlings! I hope it has been a good week for you all. I just found out that registration for my masters of architecture is on the 1st of September, that's right, next Wednesday! Ahhh! Scary thought been a student again, I feel like it was just yesterday that I was zipping around Venice in a boat, hopping from one island to the next, and now my life is going to be about lectures, thesis and endless late night study sessions. Oh goodness me!
The upside to all of this, is that I get to design again as a student, which means not giving a damn about budgets, and now that I have a blog, I can share all of my weird and wonderful creations with you folks. My year in Italy has been a real inspirational therapy for me, I literally soaked up every juicy bit of beauty in that gorgeous country, and now I feel re-charged, reborn (please excuse the drama) and ready to do my thing. Can I get an Amen friends?
In order to make the most of the free time that I have left, I have decided to do absolutely nothing. So today I'm taking it real easy, lounging around and flicking through old issues of interior magazines. One of my favourite past times, might I add. I came across the 2008 October issue of The world of Interiors, and fell in love all over again with a beach house in Africa. Lets all take a Friday mid-afternoon visual holiday to Kenya. Woohoo!

Home decor with buttons
Quirky play on scale.
Not exactly my personal taste, but I do like, especially against the background. I actually love that map wall paper, very fitting for an Indiana Jones-esque office.

Ikea 2011 collection
Is it me or has Ikea stepped up it's game, big time?
It looks like they have decided to enter the new year with a burst of colours! I have to admit that I went off Ikea the minute my billy bookcase started to fall apart within a couple of months, but a collection like this is enough to tempt me right back. Really digging those fruit and veggie baskets.
What say you darlings, thumbs up or down?

Feminine glam bedroom
I couldn't resist anymore!
I had to show you guys what I've been drooling over recently. Isn't it stunning? I really wish they featured it in the magazine, but unfortunately this front page is all there is. What a total tease, I say. From the gorgeous bed and dresser, to the lantern sitting on the window sill, I love every little detail. I look at this picture, and I see glamour, femininity, and hint of romance in the lovely flowers on the dresser. Not that a girl can't buy pretty petals for herself, but I guess I'm a hopeless romantic.

Glamourous Living
I want to live here. Period.
Contemporary, clean lines and lots of open space, what's not to love about this space. Did you guys get a whiff of the bathroom? The way it was over hanging form the bottom floor? I love every last detail of this home, especially the floor to ceiling windows, the whole place is essentially flooded with lots and lots of natural light.

Wish List Wednesday
I'm a real sucker for this kind of stuff.
I really love objects that make everyday items a little bit more interesting, you know? Who says that olive oil has to be in a generic bottle, when it can be easily stored in this beautifully decorated jar.
Look they even have salad plates to match. Perfect dinnerware for an end of summer barbecue.
I really urge you folks to head over to Du Veldt Interiors, to check out the rest of their stuff. There's a unique mix of art and African inspired household items, well worth a visit.

Dining room tip
How to create more seating place.
I remember when I lived in Italy (like last month), whenever it came to dinners, there were never enough chairs for all the people invited. Luckily for my flatmates and I, we had really friendly neighbors who always lent us their dining chairs. However, I do like this idea of bench seating, stylish and ideal, all at the same time.

Really cool iphone app
...sadly for me, I have a BlackBerry.
For those of you who love art and architecture, but have never heard of the Venice Biennale, then I bring you good news. It is the biggest art and architecture festival in the world. Period.
I started going every year since a couple of years ago, and I always leave inspired. It usually alternates between art and architecture and this year is the architecture year. The only thing that I don't like about the whole experience is having to navigate my way through all the exhibitions which is dotted around the city. Venice is a labyrinth, so it's not such an easy thing to do.
Thankfully for you lucky iphone / ipad users, you get a much easier ride, thanks to the new app developed by Theresa Simon & Partners and Flint PR. It shows you where the exhibitions are and directions of how to get there, along with live feed on events and exhibition openings.
Not bad I say, now if only someone can do the same for us BlackBerry users.
Is anyone planning to go to the Biennale?

Garden retreat
Happy Monday my darlings! Good weekend?
My Saturday was hectic and filled with way too many errands, but yesterday eased off a little bit and I had a lazy evening, which gave me time to catch up with my blog and magazine reading. I came across this beautiful garden retreat in Country Living, and how I wish I had one just like it! Very green chic, I would use it as a studio, as well as a little place to escape to and be in my own world....hmmm

French style interior
Before signing off for the weekend...
I wanted to share this beautiful French style interior with you folks.
Funnily enough, this house is no where near France. It's in London! Extremely lovely isn't it? For some reason there's something very romantic about it all, do you guys get the same feeling, or is it just me?
...mmm, anywhoo my darlings, enjoy, enjoy, enjoy your weekend!

Beautiful outdoor spaces
Autumn is in the air....
...but lets not wave good-bye to summer just yet.
Unfortunately for this London girl, the weather here hasn't been too friendly lately, so I can only dream of beautiful homemade alfresco dinning. For you lucky ones out there basking in the warm sunshine, I hope you make the most of your outdoor space before it's all over.

Wish List Wednesday
To soothe my sweet tooth...
Cocomaya in London serves up the most delicious delicacies.
No more wishing, swooning and drooling. If my craving gets any stronger, I will head down there.
I need some moral support people, has anyone else got the case of the sweet tooth?

Country livingroom
A bit of luxury in the countryside
I love everything about this living room! It caught my eye as I was flicking through September's issue of House & Garden, and I knew I had to share. The dark floors and walls makes it very cosy, whilst the white furnishes brings in the light. As well as enlarging the space, the mirrors on the wall gives it the finishing touches. I can definetly see myself curling up on that sofa and reading a book.

The English Garden
Happy Monday folks!
Strawberries, cream, and suppers in the garden, these are some of my favourite things about British summers.
Brightly coloured glassware and pretty floral dinnerware, I love the femininity of it all.
A mix of wood and cast iron dinning furniture makes everything so dated. As if Mr Darcy is about to walk in any minute, followed by Jane Austin herself.
Through in a hammock, and you can settle for an afternoon kip amongst the trees, and the sweet smelling flowers.
If you fancy recreating this classic English garden look, then pop over Period Living for some tips.

Beautiful house in Colombia
Feast your lovely eyes on this show stopping house.
Although I don't believe in this whole Friday the 13th thing, I know there are a lot of people that do, so I wanted to make today's post super beautiful and full of inspirations, to take their mind of things.
Has it worked?
Enjoy your weekend darlings!
